Four Down, Seven to Go

Cards 9, Mets 6

"So Taguchi's coming out party" - Pat Imig

"Maybe he has some secret Japanese steroids that we don't even know about" - The Lady Friend

"Best game ever" - Al Fritz

By the way, and I don't know if anyone out here in the Internets can answer this question, but what song does Adam Wainwright have play when he comes in to close out games at Busch? Whatever it is, he needs to have it replaced with My Morning Jackets "One Big Holiday."

Why? Because this song makes me want to run through a fucking brick wall. That's why.

Good game.

Let's finish this at home. Fuck the Mets.

I came home after a Lewis Black show last night (funny as hell, by the way) and turned on the TV right when So Taguchi came up to bat. Well done -- chilly evening, straight off the bench, fireballing closer on the mound, tie game, enemy territory. Two postseason ABs, two postseason HRs. Nice.

Could this be a Cards-Tigers World Series? (Don't call it a "Rematch of 1968," though, because I don't think Mickey Lolich or Lou Brock will be appearing in any games in 2006. I hate it when sportscasters do that. "Oh, here's the Giants and the A's, a rematch of 1905!" Douchebags.)

Anyway, good luck over there in the NLCS, and we'll see you in Detroit. Bring your earmuffs!
